Behind the Light
A practice built on the belief that light is the most powerful material an architect or designer can work with.
A practice built on the belief that light is the most powerful material an architect or designer can work with.
What drives every brief we accept, and where we are taking the practice next.
To transform built environments through scientific and artistic approaches to lighting - delivering customised solutions that enhance architecture, strengthen brand identity, and enrich human experience across every space we touch.
To become a trusted and creatively acclaimed lighting design practice - recognised for our collaborative engagement, technical proficiency, and absolute consistency of quality from the first concept to the final calibration.
Our name is drawn from the Quetzal - one of the world's most brilliantly coloured birds, celebrated for its vivid precision and rarity. It perfectly captures what we believe light should be: vivid enough to transform, precise enough to serve the architecture, and rare enough in its execution to be memorable.
We believe that a well-lit space does more than look beautiful. It directs attention, shapes emotion, signals brand identity, supports wellbeing, and extends the life and usability of every environment we work in. This is the conviction that drives every brief we accept.
A proven methodology that ensures creative ambition and technical discipline work hand in hand at every stage.
We translate the architectural vision and functional needs of the space into clear lighting layers and core design ideas.
Translate the creative concept into detailed CAD ceiling plans & zonal strategies.
Perform photometric lux evaluations to guarantee target illumination levels and ensure strict energy code compliance, wherever required.
Suggest precise architectural luminaires based on critical technical parameters like CRI/R9, color temperature (CCT), beam angles, and IP ratings, performance reports.
Collaborate with contractors and electrical teams to resolve installation details and safeguard design integrity.
Personally direct fixture positioning and configure control scenes to ensure the interior space, facade, and landscape are perfectly illuminated.
